ram problem

well i ordered 1gb stick of ram (same type, speed, make etc) was the ram inside my pc.. my motherboard is ga-k8nsnxp-939 it supports up to 4GB of ram, there are 4 slots on it, 2 blue and 2 orange.

i cant get it to run more than 1.5gb of ram, for example the only way i can get it to work is if i have 1 stick in the 1st blue slot and 1 in the 1st orange slot, if i put the last 512mb stick in either of the other 2 slots it does a beeeeeeep sound

any ideas?

On the bottom of page 17 of the manual available from that link says (next to a Caution sign)

"The GA-K8NSNXP-939 doesn't support 3 memory modules. If 3 memory modules are inserted,
the system will not boot."

will i have two 1024mb DDr2 ram cards in my system, they are one of the color each

blue and gray slots 2ea for the ram cards total 4 slots (4GB ram if i like). there is one ram card is each color slots they are not in the same color slots together. had trouble as will putting them in the same color slots i got a error some reason so there is one in their own color slots.

try that one in blue and one in orange, first one to the Left side that is of each color slots

holding it upright looking on to the MOB
B....B....O....O
X....B....X.....O
===bottom of case===
O-Orange
B-Blue

x is were to place them into the slots!
it work for me.

have windows manager the page files
or reset it to 1.5 x Ram total= total page file

i let windows control my page files, do to its 2gb of ram

restart your system.

He is trying to install 3 sticks of ram, which according to the manual the board doesn't support and won't boot.

Unless I'm mis-reading his initial post.

ok i see he trying to use three ram cards in his system, upgrade in pairs only ok

being the oddball in number get you into trouble all the time,

good to know i never try that only have two memory cards right now lol

am plaining on getting another 1gb seem i have to get two 1024mb (2gb) each if i like to go above the 2gb mark i have now. in grand total of 4gb dodge ram lol

BB
1-512mb of ram is only half a Gb
2x 512 = 1024mb 1Gb

1x 1024= 1024mb 1Gb
2x 1024= 2048mb 2Gb
4x 1024= 4096mb 4GB

good note he get another 512mb ram card you have 3Gb of ram booster rockets going for your system
