Cool Beagle is lost!

Well it seems our Beagle 2 mission to Mars has ended in failure. This mission done on a shoe string budget was a noble attempt to explore the red planet but unfortunately it was not to be.

Good news that the American lander has arrived safely and well done to all at NASA.

Regards

AFAIK beagle's part of the project was only 20%, so it's not a big failure...

(or maybe that's just what they want us to believe?)

anyway, IMO every bit of data about mars is interesting, it doesn't matter if it's from an european or american mission

BADDOG Another time to try and make contact is Next Monday when mars express is in the exact possision, But they are not going to transmit anything as they have been doing, To see if Beagle 2 if giving off its Final Cry for Contact.

Though I think it is over for beagle but If there is still one last hope that the beagle team have them just maybe and a BIG maybe, They just might find it.

But it was searching also today results due out tomorrow.

Quote from Beagle 2`s Homepage.
"Today's pass of Mars Express is attempting to search for a signal from Beagle 2 in a super-sensitive mode. Data processing time will be lengthy and results will not be available until 9th January."

Here Is the site address if you aint got it yet.

Oh well looks like Spirit has now suffered the same fate as beagle 2...

Scientists have said they have not been able to communicate with the Spirit rover that has been on Mars since the beginning of January.
