Malwarebytes, nice little app for ya

heard about this the other day: http://www.malwarebytes.org/

cracking little malware cleaner. was working on a a site that had a few issues and had one comp that was hijacked and had numerous probs but symantec found one trojan it couldn't remove, spybot couldn't find anything and adware didnt find anything either :/

went back to the site today with some new tools and malwarebytes picked up 23 infected files including a nice little rootkit in there. then it promptly deleted the lot and fixed the registry entries that had been altered.

not a freebie for full Protection one have to buy it i think thats how it works

but they do have a demo

basic the basic freeware version is free, but buy the pro version you get it all enable options.

quick scan found:

going to do full scan later on, still it found that last item that was sweet to see it catch it

i put this program on my friends computer ...

it found 6 trojans and one of those rogue.installer things .. i just about slapped him. he thought he was straight because he had some crappy program running all the time .. avast or something ...

i tried it on my computer .. it found a trojan .. and i scan my computer with like 3 other scanners .. all full versions (legally obtained of course)

rescued a server today with this, ... 15 rootkit files :O
