Cool Smoke And Tiles

Hi, I'm just getting to grips with the BHD editor and have a couple of questions for you guys.

1. How do I delete a smoke entity from a map? Once I add smoke I can't see any icon to select in the editor to move or delete it.

2. Tiles. Once I've saved a map and loaded it back into the editor how do I get the tiles I added to show up?

Smoke::
Your best bet would to make sure that when you add smoke in the first place you label a layer called SMOKE and make it default [in the layers tab at top] whilst you are adding the smoke entities. That way all the smoke is going to be in this layer only.
When you go to add something else make another layer default so you dont have anything BUT smoke in the SMOKE layer.
That way if you want to get rid of the smoke you can hide all layers but the SMOKE layer and hold shift as you right click and drag the entire MED thus ensuring you only select smoke (and it doesnt matter if you can see it or not).............
Or we could beg those in the know to make an entity you can see in the latest version of the unlocked MED.

Tilesets:
Load your map.
Go to General Information, select any random tileset and OK.
Go back to General Information, select the tileset you used and OK.
In bottom right now the tileset TAB should reappear.
Click TileSet tab, locate the LOAD button and look for the saved Tileset.
Typically its called [yourmapname].til

(from the smoke thing)
It follows therefore that if you make layer 2 hidden and then painstakingly reset everyobject that you can see as a layer 2 entity then when the map is clear, only the hidden smoke entities remain and so you can again safely do a sweep select and delete.

****REMEMBER:::
Just because you place something in a hidden layer and you cant see it in the MED window DOES NOT mean that it isnt still highlighted yellow.
BEFOR you do a sweep select and delete of whats left, make sure you go to layer 2 (or wherever you put the visible objects) and click Unselect all)

Also when I make maps I name them as such.
mapname_a1i.mis
then if I change anything significant its mapname_a1ii.mis
The highest you can get is mapname_z9viii.mis. A total of 1872 progressive saves.
This is because if you got to 'ix' in the roman numerals then when you view the files in Explorer they are out of order.

If you are being really pro, add details of what you have added to the Mission Briefing.

Now you have a whole heap of maps that are actually a record of what you have done to make the map.

Now if you add smoke and you dont like it, simply load the version of your map directly before you added it!

Smoke: noticed that in the left of your screen the most of the (how do we call it?) items are turned on? in my case the bottom two where turned off (standard?) you should turn them on and you'll see a box (fire in my case) i hope it does the same with smoke! and make sure you use much layers, and (right click) select 'view by layer'!!!
Tiles:If i'm not mistaking you'll only be able to load one tile set! if I load another my previous tiles will change!
