[DFLW] Land Warrior in Win 10 and XP Virtual Box

Hi there,

New to the site.

Pulled out my old CD copy of Land Warrior and tried installing it on my Win 10 home machine and a Win XP Pro Virtual Box on the same computer, both didn't work.

Windows 10 - Installed properly, but game wouldn't work. Changed compatibility mode to XP SP3 and still didn't work.

XP PRO Virtual Box - Installed properly, but as game starts it says that video card does not support 3D. Laptop is from 2014 and supports 3D, settings on Virtual Box have 2D and 3D acceleration enabled.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Land Warrior does a check for a physical graphics card. It won't work in any virtual box that I know of, I've tried most of them .

What error do you get when launching the game from Windows 10? This game does work on Windows 10 just fine, and without any compatibility settings. Make sure you apply the proper patches though:

Thanks for the warm welcome and thanks for the quick response!

Sad to hear that DFLW won't work in any virtual box.

There is no error in Windows 10, it just doesn't do anything. I upgraded the game via the novaworld website with the 12102002 patch and it still just didnt do anything, the compatibility wizard came up and asked if the .exe file worked properly. I pressed the button to used Win 10 suggestions and still nothing just another popup asking if the .exe worked properly. I will try your patch when I get home and see if that works.

I know downloadable versions of the game supposedly work with Win 10, but I actually bought the game when it came out and have the CD. Hate to pay for it again, to be able to play.

Try downloading the patch I linked to. Unfortunately, there are some issues with the NL patches that just won't allow the game to work under some scenarios.

Also, NovaLogic has an actual full copy of the legit game on their FTP server. You can download and install it from the link below. It will work with your CD Key also.

Thanks for the info and the ftp address. I am doing a fresh install from the CD to Win 10, while the file downloads from the FTP server. Do I install your patch before, after, or instead of the 121002 patch on the nova website?

Also does the same apply to the install file from the ftp site? Does it require any patches? If so, in what order?
