New MP5 for BHD

Well I've been working on new weapons for BHD and created this MP5 using 3ds max 9 and photoshop cs2. Take a look at the quality difference between nova's and mine. (Note that the model is first person and does not have a stock to save polys, 3rd person model will contain an extended stock.

Nice. BTW, this should be in the BHD forum.

There's one thing I don't get about things though. Every mod I've played for BHD, when the player reloads the weapon, the reloading doesn't seem right for some reason. For example, it doesn't actually show the hand ''pick'' up the weapon. Is it the way the weapon is made, etc? (Just curious.)

Anyways it's kinda nice. Keep it up.

Sorry for posting in wrong section, but the reload animation is hard to get right because the templates that are used were meant for the nova sized weapon, so you'd have to create a new weapon exactly same size as BHD's gun in order to get it dead on right. You can either do that or go threw ALOT of testing and checking...which I had to do with the MP5. The MP5 took a little over a day to make (Model, UV Map, Texture, Get into game...). The reload animation works fine with this MP5 and the cocker (metal peice sticking out close to where barrel is) actually moves when you fire just a little bit just like the BHD MP5. The poly count is very similar and it is uv mapped on a 512x512 .tga file so it's in everyway somewhat identical to how novalogic does it. The only diffrence is the realism of this MP5 to the Novalogic's. Also a bit of texture quality difference between the 2 aswell. Instead of streaks of colored lines theres actually a metal texture. In the OED I added a Specular Gloss map onto the metal surface allowing for light to flow off the gun niceley, adds a nice effect.

Since I want my gun to stand out amongst the BHD weapons I'm thinking of adding a spec ops scope and new Rail attachment to the MP5. I'd like to know what you all think.

Takes alot work to get a gun in game, it's taken me 3 years to learn so...its nothing that comes quickly.

Fung Ti Sung, you need a program (or something really similiar) called 3D Studio Max, about a $2000-$4000 buck program. I dunno if there's ''free'' similiar ones out there though.

There will be an non silenced version of the MP5 aswell. Many new weapons to come with better details.

I have a few weapon models if you want them, havnt made them useable for Nova games. (I may need to look in there and see what i do have)

One thing ive noticed though since TFD the OICW was not available, yet is still wanted in games, any thoughts on making one of those, or other similar modern weapons rather than run of the mill assault rifles and sniper rifles?

Is it somehow possible to change the reloading template? Because if Nova hardcoded something into the game that prevented this from being changed, screw them.

It can be changed from what i know, but takes alot of work.
