Very Latent Hop in Santa Clara, CA.

Is anyone else experiencing very slow Cable Internet speeds going through the MCI hop at Santa Clara, CA. (157.130.130.173) ? For two months now, nearly every evening between 6:00 - 11:00 PM Pacific, my internet slows to a creaping crawl. I downloaded the VisualRoute 2005 utility, and found that at hop 3 I am around 12ms and then it jumps to way over 400ms or even as high as 624ms at hop 4 in Santa Clara, CA. Yet when I use the same utility to trace the route through that same hop in Santa Clara to Yahoo.com, it averages about 50ms during the same timeframe. I would appear that they are "prioritizing" during peak usage periods, and if you are trying to link to a game site, it gets the lowest priority. Do you think I am right? Are we being discriminated against?

I have spent hours and hours, talking to Support People (my Cable Techs, MCI Techs, Router Tech, Dell Tech Support, etc.), and everyone says their equipment is working perfectly. You could fool me!

will it counts more people using the same hop it going to ping a lot (lag more).

i remember when i had DSL it would do that sometimes...

dunno .. got rid of them though and got cable (road runner)

call up tech support?
