I want to hook up my 42' TV to my comp and play some video games on it. I got ATI X800XL 256MB, and I wanna know what some bad things could happen..like could TV catch fire?

I dont think it could because i mean many of people do it to see people better in game and to have a bigger view lol!How expensive is your tv and does it come with warranty?

it was $1,300 and i think it has warranty..will have to check that

Now if Steve says no then NO! lol! Steve do you speak from experience or do you know its most likely going to?I hear of people saying they game with a TV all the time but they never mentioned to me if it would cause issues or conflict with tv doing so!

nothing bad will happen, just be wary depending on the type of tv.

if it's rear projection - it might kill it
if it's plasma - will get screen burn from static screens.
old LCD's might get screen burn from static screens.
new ones should be fine.

things will be ok, just dont leave it hanging on the menu screen for a few hours

You need a TV out adapter for it and if you do You might have to Adjust your Refresh Rate on your GFX crd becaues i think the tv's refresh rate (Mine) is like 60-70Hz
