blue screen!!

hi,, after playing about 10 mins of BHD or JO i get a cracking sound over my speakers followed by a blank blue screen of death.. i have updated all drivers and directx.. can ne1 help??

same prob, i found it was a driver conflict with ATI and something i wemnt back to 4.9 drivers and seems to be ok now

im using XP pro..

BB did u get the same cracking sound over ur speakers?? and were u using a radeon 9800??

Well I got it TOO when playing BHD on certain maps. But later on with the updates from NL and Windows it went away. I remember getting BSD (Blue Screens of Death)

ive gotten it before along time ago, but it was the sound card, I put a new one in and no more blue screen of death lol

maybe try a diff. one, or update drivers

where can i find the older drivers?? i can only find the latest ones

Never gotten the blue screen but this weird distorted crackling...but that has happened with Df2 also.

cracking noise might be loose wires (no i'm not trying to be funny), other than that, might be driver problems

the cracking noise is not continuos. about 5 seconds before my blue screen it occours so i am pretty sure it is linked with the problem

Yeah, that's what I thought too. But I had new headphones. So that problem was a non issue. It has to do with: 1. Sound Card; 2. Graphics Card; 3. Something magnetic around the speakers.

i'll go for number 2,, i have a radeon 9800 which has messed me about before,, might switch to nivida,, wot is th e9800 equivilent??

I've got an NVIDIA GeForce 2 MW/MX 400 64MB and Sound Blaster Live. I had problem with BSD before I updated BHD and gfx drivers. Now BHD runs great.
