Need some help from ya'll
Alright, a squad m8 has me making him a sig, I've spent a lot of time to get this effect to look good without looking trashy. He loves this look, and I think it came out great myself. However, it always comes down to the damn text.
I cannot find a decent font and text effect to put on here to fit the sig and the saying "battered never broken". I'm open here for ideas. Thanks I'd appreciate it, right now I am pulling teeth and coming to dead ends. That's the design I'm working with.

well I know it needs a border aye I wasn't asking about that lol
ringer I tried that top one you did the simple effect and tried fitting it on a displacement map to fit the flag but it wouldn't work, kept getting messed up don't know why.

What is that font though ringer for the top one? looks like 2 fonts used. That font goes good, and I think with that font I could get my displacement map to work on it.
Thanks for looking at it though, I like the text effect on the second one, but don't think it fits what he's looking for.

u use a channel to distort the layer. e.g. make the writing look like it is written on the flag - all wavy etc.

rgr I'm going to use that font and try messing with the displacement maps see if I can get it to look burned on the flag.

Well, I think I came to something I like with that font. Spent like 20 minutes messing with the displacement map and I like this result.
Couldn't get it to fit the flag any closer unfortunately, and I don't have the text to path option with PS7, otherwise I think I would have gotten it a lot closer.

I'll take a try at this one... It'll probably suck, I'm rusty. Haven't touched a compy with photoshop in at least 2 months.

ringer, you are familiar with how terrains work in the NL games right? Well that's how the displacement maps work, grayscale mapping. You could make a displacement map for example easy to picture of a woman's chest, in grayscale, edit it to be light to dark as light would reflect on it. Then load the text onto that map, and could pretty much make the text ride down into her bra and back up along the contours of her chest, if that is easier for ya to understand.
