Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP
Tweak UI
This PowerToy gives you access to system settings that are not exposed in the Windows XP default user interface, including mouse settings, Explorer settings, taskbar settings, and more.

Version 2.10 requires Windows XP Service Pack 1 or Windows Server 2003.

look down the listing on the right side (highlited in blue) you see "Tweak UI" click-on it to download it then instill it. can't say you can use it in safemod without log-in. in it you can disable log-in or you can change the password too.
===========================================

you can change log-in pass word with it too.
change how it runs/repair/disable items/do many things with it.

you need to log-in as admin if you can if you never set a password by default it be 1-0 it be 0 above the keys A-Z up top press 0. press it. this if you never set a password for Administrative log-in

still work in Windows Xp SP2

Yeah come to think of it I did know of another way to get past it.

BTW I have to keep some of these PM's so I can blackmale some people!
drawback to this is if you do that some of your software may have to be re-instill like games/antivirus/firewall and any other software. other software may still work.

i would try to use "Tweak UI" try to instill it and go to safemod if you can get there as a Administrative log-in press 0 if you never set a password for it. if there some one who knows the password for Administrative they can log-in and change your password log-in for you.

Great site to get a lot of info and tips:

I have a book that shows how to reset a windows NT password, using linux (specifically using the Knoppix LiveCD).

Wonder if it will work with XP?

This book also shows how to scan for virus, download the latest security updates, edit the registry and restore corrupted system files.

Can't wait to try them out

LOL Cheif, almost all of your programs will not work...if the program is based in the registry then it will not work. That is why I said you would have to reinstall them.

Not really, you can just reinstall the programs to the same location as before and it would work fine. I have done it before
