News from Nova

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Sierra Entertainment, a division of Vivendi Games, and NovaLogic today announced that both companies have entered a co-publishing agreement to bring Delta Force® Black Hawk Down®: Team Sabre(TM), a first-person shooter game, exclusively to the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system in November 2006.

Black Hawk Down: Team Sabre continues the Delta Force franchise with intense combat that includes two all new single-player campaigns as well as new weapons, squad commands and characters. To further enhance the playing experience, Delta Force Black Hawk Down: Team Sabre contains the largest multiplayer combat for the PlayStation 2 system with up to 32 players online in seven unique game types.

"We are excited to team with NovaLogic to publish the next action packed version of the popular Delta Force series exclusively for PlayStation 2 users," said Cindy Cook, chief strategy and marketing officer for Vivendi Games. "Fans of the series, or gamers experiencing the action for the first time, will undoubtedly enjoy the massively multiplayer online capabilities as well as the formidable new missions set in South America and Iran."

"We are very happy to partner with Sierra Entertainment, who have been making games even longer than we have," said Lee Milligan, President of NovaLogic, "and we can't wait until gamers get their hands on the next installment of the Black Hawk Down story to see what the excitement is all about."

Delta Force Black Hawk Down: Team Sabre will be available exclusively for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system in November 2006 for a suggested retail price of $29.99, with an ESRB "T" for Teen rating.

Key game features include:
  • TWO ALL NEW SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGNS -- Embark on 11 challenging
missions through treacherous South American jungles and across the high
deserts of Iran. Insert by Black Hawk into enemy territory, fight your
way through a mountain stronghold and pursue the enemy through hostile
    oil fields.
  • NEW WEAPONS, SQUAD COMMANDS AND CHARACTERS -- Select from 24 weapons to
maximize your effectiveness in battle, including two never before seen
weapons in the Black Hawk Down series; the MK-23 SOCOM and the L115A
sniper rifle. Take command of the world's most elite Special Forces
teams -- Delta Force and the British SAS -- and order your squad mates
to lay down suppressive fire or execute a flanking maneuver on the
    enemy.
  • NEW MULTIPLAYER WARFARE -- Join in the action in intense fire fights
with up to 32 players online and seven unique game types including new
variants and old classics. Persistent statistic tracking allows you to
follow your progress as you rise through the ranks. Battle it out with
up to four of your friends in split-screen or work together against a
common foe in cooperative play. With 24 multiplayer maps to choose
from and voice-over-net for immediate battlefield intel, prepare for
battles that are even more intense than the original Black Hawk Down.

Vivendi Games Mobile has also released a mobile version of Delta Force Black Hawk Down: Team Sabre. The squad-based shooter is a 2D tactical action game based on the PC bestseller and tasks mobile gamers with leading ten missions across South American jungles and the Persian Gulf. The game is currently available to mobile subscribers in Europe and will be coming to wireless operators in North America this Fall.

I don't 'ave a PS2 but since I did my review on BHD to the class (which was rated the most in the class) some of my friends who have PS2s would love to get this game! Any SSs?

Gonna check up on www.novalogic.com for any news. Thanks Mike!

Hmm the thing that springs to mind here is, They are really doing nothing at all TS was made by another company and had missing textures and laying on a hill if you moved your mouse everything used to disapear exept the ground you are laying on.

I think its a bit out of date really to release TS on any machine now, Its like a final grab for some money.

I highly doubt a company that contracts with the military gets pressured by consumers who want to buy their games, the pressure comes from the corporation, of which is their problem for not deciding hey this board sucks fire them all and start from scratch.

For an outdated platform? If that were the case I'd release updates for it rather than ditching it to another platform.

never the less thats what they are doing and its still extended product life
when thay have no more platforms to port too it will become "end of product life "
after all does not the farmer " Milk his Cow for all he can before he puts her out to pasture...."

It's not extended product life it's a void filler that's all. If they were worried about product life they would have done the same with the other games in the Delta Force series as well in their day. Christmas is coming, they are at the end of the fiscal year and they need to boost sales so they ported TS and make off as it being a new game which most PS2 users wouldn't know otherwise.

You can only extend product life if you update the one itself rather than making ''varied versions'' of one game.

The only people I know who still support and probably DF2 nowadays are me, Bustin, and Killerbee.

There are like 340 people on Saturday so it's not completely given up on lol, but my point is NL doesn't care about product life, each time they release a new game they drop the other game. The only way they can do this is because for some unknown reason they have a fanbase that will allow them to do it. They keep buying the games and then complaining, then they buy the new game again lol.
