before anyone says...
yes the chip is a 'mobile' chip. this is designed for a laptop but is extremeply popular and value for money because the tight gits at AMD have started locking all their chips so u cannot over clock 'em... except the mobile processors, which also run at 1.45 volts. not only are the chips overclockable by being unlocked, you can increase the voltage by a long way = insance overclocks, woo woo. |

Well Amd's new processer runs at 1200mhz or 1600mhz (can't remember which) fsb. So...AMD's kick pentiums trash anyway. Mine runs at 333 and it is an AMD 2800+ 2ghtz

im not sure why u cant edit, you can in most of the forum sections, it must have got missed in this one i guess :O
again it is even more weird as the setting you put in the BIOS is 1/2 the FSB, so stock would be 133, but mine is runnning 200 x 11 (multiplier) = 2200 MHz and just to throw in another, with a Barton processor, the PR rating of a 2200 MHz chip = 3200+ don't even ask about RAM timing >_< |

I saw on a site that the new AMD 64 could run at a FSB speed of 1200mhz.

Their double pumped.. so a 200mhz, is 100mhzx2 they work at the rising and the falling of the clock..
the Pentium 4 is quad pumped, 133x4 = ~533, use to be 100mhzx4=400mhz, and now it's 200mhzx4=800mhz FSB.. the New althon 64 uses Hyper Transport which is fast, but a bit different then the traditional FSB. Also when AMD doesn't it's PR rating, it takes into account the L2 cache also, which usually is, the more L2 cache, the faster the CPU can be, under certain conditions. that's one reason why the Pentium 4 Extreme Editions are so fast, they have a 2.5MB of L2 & L3 cache, which when u have a program that can effectively fill up that L2 & L3 cache makes it fast. |
