vegetarians

just wanted to set up a thread to find out how many of us are vegetarians, i have recently turned vegetarian, i dont think many of us actually think where the meat of our plate comes from, sure some have to be killed to stop disease from spreading, but what about the other innocent animals dieing, so we have something to eat, i did physically feel sick when i started searching sites about killing animals for meat
and i feel its just wrong, i know bb is, but who else
vote
godamnit, i dont know i cant see a poll thing, lol, just post yes or no, and whatever u wish to add

no i am not. everyone makes sacrifices to survive. Humans are basically the dominate mammals in this world. we do we what need to do to survive. Just like other animals, they kill other living things to survive. Thats how the food chain works.

Personally no, although not to say im not impartial to the idea but im still working round the question that my kyoshi posed to me during my buddhist and zen philosophy studies as part of my martial arts training. How does one differentiate between eating animals and eating (generically speaking) plants?

To set up a poll, there is a checkbox when you post a thread, when you click that and submit it will take ou to set up a poll.

I don't think there is much wrong with it.. If a lion was hungry and your in it's path it's coming for you. It's close to the same concept that we have. We kill so we can live, ofcourse we can live of vegies etc but if we all did animals would prolly be over populated and we would just have to kill them anways. So why not just keep it reasonable and eat them while we keep them under control? Plus I LOVE my meat.

What I don't like is the people that kill and waiste it. Or kill it for one simple thing like a tusk or a claw.

So yes I am a meat eater.

I like meat but I just think that it is smart not to eat a ton of it. I think that it is your choice. If you don't want to enjoy the taste of a nice juicy steak.

Lol dude people have been eating animals for food for thousands of years. I don't see how that is such a bad thing. I am not saying I would go kill my dog or anything and eat it but some animals have their purpose.

You can create huge vitamin and iron deficientcies with not eating meat and taking supplements. I know I had that happen to me.

I dunno where you live, but here in the American South that's quite common. It's commonplace to raise a pig or two to slaughter. You wouldn't believe how much freezer space they take up.

I'm not a vegetarian. I love my greens, I can't get enough of fresh green beans, lettuce, and tomatoes, but gimme a slab of ribs and a bottle of bbq any day. I don't have anything against vegetarians (well, except the PETA nuts...don't get me started), just don't hate me for eating Bambi. I'm a Bible believing man, and in it God says he put animals here to be dominated and used by man, but that we're also not supposed to just go out an kill them all. If God says it, it's good enough for me
