Here is my sad story...you can laugh if you want.

Saturday night my bro and I hooked our computers up, he is on a laptop and I am on a PC. Anywho, we hook them up and install Jo. I tried getting a NoCd for it so we could play lan not realizing that we could just start the game with the cd and then take it out and start JO on the other computer.

Anywho, I download this so called nocd and open it. Run the patch and find out it is some POS virus. I was too dumb to scan it before I ran it.

Anywho what this virus/worm does is it makes up a whole ton of files which it puts in your shared folder for P2p programs. (This is how it grows). It stuck hundreds of fake files like. Virtual G*rl and all these porn things. Anywho. I install norton (which I vowed I'd never do) and run it trying to get rid of the virus. It found 5000 infected files and got rid of all but 100.

So I was like screw this...I put my files on another partition and then formatted the main partition.

Then I reinstalled norton and scanned the other partition and it found 30 infections where the virus had leached into the other files that I copied.

So I get rid of all 30 of the viruses and norton screws my browser up. So I uninstall it. That screws everything else up.

So I have to format again...that is where I am now.

Anywho stupid hackers/virus dudes...just to warn you don't run any no cd for JO unless you scan it...even then don't get the NoCd.

That is why you scan your downloads before you open em.

Of course! Actually, the easiest way would just be to make a virtual drive out of it...anyone can do that (even people like you and me!) Maybe we can get DD to do something for us

I am just going to take it back JO was a waste of money...may as well get the GR Gold Pack.

That's why I suggested that we have a software selling section on this site. So, we just sell the stuff. Anyone wants a slightly used JO & JOE?

They are not. Ubi makes it so you can mod their software.
It is just a part of the game...take a look at Ghost Recon or Far Cry.

Wait!!!!!! I always rememered Joint Ops as having a built in No CD Patch i never had to install a no cd patch and mine runs with no cd!

A no-cd patch isn't illegal...an image of the cd might, but not a patch.

Breech of agreement doesn't neccessarily translate to a breach of a lands laws.

JO is well set up against dual running. There is no No CD patch because you don't need one. Im not sure how it works on LAN but Nova got their security about right this time round.
Oh well.

Thats because dont need a No Cd Patch cause its a built in No CD Patch with the game is what Support told me for JO
