XML!!!! ?

I have been reading about and using various apps that utilise extensible markup language.

I have debated in these forums as to its use etc and maintained that good server side scripting such as php etc is the wya its going to go.
I still believe that however... Did anyone know just how exciting XML is?
Did you know you can use it to write content for Flash pages?
Or that exported MSN contact lists are XML?

I just had a glimmer of hope that I might understand all this and wowee there are possibilites...
