As you probably know Croc Hunter Steve Irwin took his 1 month old boy into a Croc feeding session at Australia Zoo, holding him 1m from Crocs which has caused controvesy

What do you think?

well he knows what he's doing but, mistakes can be made, he could slip or a croc could go nuts hehe.

why did he do it btw? casue he loves animals so much he wants his kid to like em to?

The irwins actually live in Australia Zoo, they have 100 crocs 20 away in their backyard, steve wants to teach his kids early about being 'croc savvy' his father did it to him, he did it with his daughter and now with his son. He also kept the kid up and forward from the croc, crocs dont lunge forward, the go upward so the kid was safe in that respect.

His reasoning also included that crocs are a real threat where he lives, parents teach their children how to cross roads safely because its a danger they live etc etc

He also says hell take the kid back in to the croc cage...

I think he's a professional and he really knows what he's doing. But taking his child into the croc feeding was not a good idea. If the crock lunged Stevie could have slipped...there are so many things that could have happened. I think this is just like Micheal Jackson holding the baby over the rail.

yeah i agree with trilogy but the only thing is if he takes a child in a cage with a croc, and if something is not right i can bet that he would get em out of there very quickly. And if something happends and a croc tries to attack, he would let himself get taken rather than a child. But yeah stev is a pro at what he is doing. He has been doing it all his life.

I think it was sorta ok, I would never do that with my kid, but then he is a pro.. But maybe he coulda waited till the kid could at least walk. What we he have done if he slipped? Threw the kid to the side? Accidents happen, that's why they are called accidents. Pro or not, they make mistakes and that one could have been costly.

I Think The ones that phoned in and complained, Have no idea about Croc`s, This guy is a Pro if anyone knows anything about Croc`s its Steve. I think The Ones that made a big thing about it should be fed to the Croc`s.

Well its funny how they didnt complain when he put his daughter in the same situation on the Breakfast TV GMTV the other week.
Or is it just a case of Sexual Discrimination it was ok for his Daughter but not for his Son, These people get a life of your own and stop trying to tell others how to go about theirs.

And the poll seems to Agree......

I Still say feed the complainers to the CROC`s.

His dad did probebly do the same thing when steve was a kiddy, but there ware no cameras to catch him. Its thear way of integrating their kids into that profession. And not to forget, the chance that something happens to his kid is a microscopic chance, it can happen him something but its just not likely. About as dangerous as playing in kindergarden!
Hes not abusing his kid fysicly and i would see it as one of the least likeliest things that he would hurt his kid, so let him be and do what he does best! Hes done it since he was a kid, let his kids do the same!

The thing is that the croc would have gone for steve in that case and not the baby, and the baby would have been picked up faster then you can say "slip", he aint alone you know

Unless he throws the baby infront of him, the croc would attack the big one as hes a bigger threat to her/his "house"
