Apache 2.0 + 'Drake Linux directory Alias's
For some reason.... Alias /files/ /home/files/ gives me a forbidden permission error ( http://67.8.190.7/files/ )

Any suggestions? I tried changing the usergroup on it to apache but that didnt work...

Apache 2.0 commonhttpd.conf file
Mandrake Linux 9.2

Thanks in advance for any help...

in httpd.conf make sure the index file in /home/files is listed as a valid index file.

they are, ijust tried index.php and a index.htm file... same problem

chmod the directory? Might not have the permission set to view it.

Do a "chmod 0777 *dir*" as a test and see if this helps.

ie
PHP Code:
chmod 0777 ./home/files/ 
might need to remove the last "/".

I'm not familiur with mandrake so this might not work but its worth a try

already got 777 permissions

are the allow deny setting correct in the httpd.conf?
Do you have any virtual hosts?
