Can't even play the game!!
Ok, I installed the game, but when I run it, the single and multiplayer are greyed out, not allowing me to run the game.
Any idea why this is happening?? If I select "play LAN only", I do get the multiplayer option. Any help would be most appreciated. My rig: AMD XP 1.9 512 megs DDR PC 2100 Radeon 9700 WinXPpro Thanks |

Hmmm......I would suggest re-installing your drivers on your 9700 Pro. Do you have the 3.2 drivers? Because, ironically, I had a problem like that alitte bit ago. But, I re-installed the drivers and it worked. The problem? Improper Driver installtions. I forgot to un-install my old drivers before I installed me new drivers, lol. So, that's what I'm guessing is the problem. Go to www.ati.com and push on the link "Find a Driver". Hope this helped. Cheers. -Kelisis

Updated to 5.1.2001.0
Still no go...any ideas? |

No one has any ideas? *sigh*
I updated the game (it at least allowed me to do that). I can set options, even view the credits, but I can't select single or multiplayer. Strangely, I cannot view the intro. I'm wondering if I should just return the game and see if EB will allow me to switch it with another copy. Could I simply have a corrupt game? |

Thanks for responding CapN.
I'm trying to use the Novalogic support, and I can't even get that to work. As you can see in the pic, it keeps telling me "incorrect version". Any idea why? |

I had a similar problem with DFLW. Turned out I had scratched my CD.
I'd say check for scratches. And I think Nova would replace it for you, but not the store you bought it at. Just my thoughts.

Try 1.1.0.10 without the v in front.

I was told by Nova Tech Support to go to your game file and look for a folder called ASSETS CD you open it up with Notepad, look at the letter,if it doesnt match the drive your CD is in then simply change the letter IE if Game CD is in drive D and the letter in the notepad is E just change the letter, they said it wont recognize the CD if that letter is wrong,,i tried this but it matched,so i just reinstalled the update(from within the game) and it fixed the prob

Panther, I tried that, no dice. I even tried version1.1 etc., nothing.
I'll give that shot when I get home tonight Jim, I hope it works! It's wierd, cause the game starts and my CD is spinning...so I'm guessing it knows it's in there. Hopefully that wierd Drive issue will correct it. I tried to reinstall the update from inside the game this morning before I came to work, but it didn't do anything. Wish me luck everyone! |

Hmm...still no go with the CD change thing, although it was mapped to the wrong drive.
I was wondering what your text was in the file, did it look like this? \\SKULLFACE\D\ skullface being my puter name, D being the drive. |

No it just shows F: (exactly as shown) F being my 2nd cd drive you looked in the ASSETS CD file in you BHD folder correct? when you click it ,it brings up a box OPEN WITH you choose notepad(i uncheck the box that says Always Open With This ) and it opens,,and it should have a letter and colon ( example ) D: thats it ,,, then you just change the letter to corrispond with the letter of the drive your BHD CD is in

you may have to rename your Cd-drive it trying to find D-Drive ie (D: ) F-Drive it may not know what it is most system run read main Cd-Drive as (D: )
to fix this: 1.) click-on "My Computer". 2.) double click on it you see in the listing "Properties" click-on it. 3.) click-on Tap "Device Manger". 4.) lookup "CDROM" Icon click-on it or the + sign next to it. 5.) highlite it 1x click in it. 6.) down below you see Properties click-on it. 7.) lookup top you see a tap "Settings" 8.) you should see in there start drive letters and end drive letter you pick "D" for both of them. 9.) click-on "ok" 10.) it will ask you to restart your PC do so. Remark: if you have 2 listed there lookup the (F: ) one that you need to be rename to (D: ) i have my set as the following: A-Driver is my 3 1/2" 1.44mb floppy D-Drive read Cd from main driver for Cd's (and its also my DVD player too) E-Drive is my Cd-writer (i use it to read Cd only for backup have to rename it to do so only when main Cd-Drive gose bad) S-Driver is my Zip-driver 250.mb floppy

Super thanks to everyone!!! I finally got it fixed.
I finally got through to Novalogic support on the phone...they informed me there was some process going on in the background that was not allowing DF: BHD to play. As odd as that sounds...I went through and shut down all my processes. Booted DF:BHD and what do you know, it works! Thanks so much for everyones help! See you on the battlefield! iam_skullface |

lol, too funny, it worked that night, of course, now that I've restarted my computer, no go.
I can close out of all processes running under my system name, but when I boog DF: BHD it simply sits and never comes up. If I go to my Task Manager, I see it in there using up 99% of my cpu. GG. |
