get your parents to buy yours tickets. But Yeah I loved the graphics, plot sucked though. It was weird all of a sudden people could to things they couldn't in the first movie.

i was very disspointed compared to the first.. they screwed up the morpheus character completely from the "is that air your breathing" type guy to a rogue general type character. I also felt some of the scene they dragged on a bit to much, i could also spot the cgi to easily compared to the first one, but the special effects themselves were excellent, my overall impression was that they made the 2nd and 3rd one as one then decided to split it into 2 movies to rake in the money. Still for the effects n stuff it's still worth seeing at the cinema.

Cool Matrix Reloaded

Hi all,

I haven't seen the movie yet and some of the reviews have been a little critical. I loved the first movie and I'm hoping I won't be dissapointed in the second. I'm going on Friday to see it so fingers crossed.

Regards

*****DONT READ THIS IF YOU HAVENT SEEN THE FILM*****

Im interested in the third installment because of the implications of the story in part two.
Like Blackbelt I could see the CGI characters too easily, in the fight scene with hundreds of Smiths being the most prominent example but that notwithstanding;

The inference seems to be now that Neo is a tool for the machines and not a hero for Zion as the 'prophecy' had suggested.
How is the cycle going to broken? And moreover how are the story writers going to make it plausible?
Cause and Effect and repetition of a predictable history may well give the Architect his smug sense of safety but we are now being introduced to rogue elements of the Matrix that are not intended to be there, seem keen to control the Matrix for their own aims and as such have every reason to fight its deletion and re-boot. However if Neo gets his way, the Matrix will be deleted fullstop and so these same rogue elements have a need if not a desire to dispose of him as well.
How this story develops intrigues me as I sense it could be done very badly and flop flat on its face.

Another problem could be the development of the Neo character. If the matrix ceases to exit he will effectivley become no more than a numpty like you and me, albeit with a grateful planet surrounding him. Could you give up those powers so easily? Would it not make more sense to keep the matrix, but in the control of Zion and maintain that powerfulness?
And what exactly did he do in the 'world of the real' to those robots? Is Neo hardwired to all machines now? And if so how? And what is the manifest of the 'real world' Smith?

Exciting stuff. But however, unlike the promises of the hype, I can in fact wait. Although I will probably be seeing it as soon as is humanly possible.

One last thing. When Smith infiltrated the outside world, the following scene suggested to me that Neo had dreamt it, and that it may not have been real, something that was clearly not the case when subsequent scenes appeared. If he did dream it, then why does he not know what the guy in question is? Or was it just a bad directors edit?

A bit off topic here, but not by much. Anyone here played Enter The Matrix? I liked it quite a bit. There are a lot of cut scenes, and the gameplay is just right enough to tide me over until Max Payne 2 The Fall of Max Payne comes out this fall (if the release date holds. Which they never do).

Matrix

Well I went to see it finally and I am some what disapointed after all the hype. As some one else mentions here, you can see many additional scenes in the game version which, so I am told, explain the various twists and sub plots in the movie.

ZZA1PQX raises a good point in as much that if you were Neo, would you want to surrender the awesome power being linked to or part of Matirx bestows on you?

Regards

---spoilers---

What are your thoughts on the '2nd matrix' or the 'failsafe matrix' that is apparent, where zion is just another system of control, hence neo can stop the robots at the end... Will neo master this matrix and find a way out? Was the orphan with the spoon giving neo the spoon because he realised that zion was just a second matrix? or was it just a sentimental thing? Does agent smith know about the 2nd matrix? Is the 2nd matrix really another matrix, or is neo just some how tapping into real life?
