[software] looking for something to record phone calls
my brother wife call last night and started going nutso what we feel about her? man she really can dreamup some thing not even soo
so i like to record some of these calls to ether show my brother when he away what these callls are like and maybe share with others. i know some in the pass have recorded phones calls and like telemarkets they pull a pank on them made a big joke out of it all. its true really no one can really get along with my younger brother wife much, she like to go on the deepend thinking up what other think or talking about her, i only like to share what is going on. so looking for something i can use on my computer phone line to pickup and at any given time i can turn it on to record phone calls that are going on, not asker phone calls

I dont think a modem will work that way.
If you take a mic and tape it to a second phone handset where it will pickup both your voice and the voice from the speaker then you can record using any program that will record from the single mic. Sound recorder will do this, but the file will be large. All you need to do is get a cheap phone with a volume control, turn up the volume and test to see if both can be heard clearly if not adjust until they are, ofcourse you will need to take the other handset off its cradle slow and quietly and start the recording manualy. once you get this set up then when someone calls make some small talk until the recording starts, then edit to remove the small talk. if you have the HD space start the recording while its ringing and pull both handsets at the same time. edit to remove what you dont want. mauser may know of a program that will do this manualy but i know this works for the cost of the mic and cheap phone.

i remember something a phone-Mic! i use along time a go
basic it a round disc that would be mounted on the back of the hand set plug into a tape recorder. think i have to search for a Mic with a sucking cup that would stick to the back of the headset. instead of plug-in it into a tape record i can plug it into my tower it has a special audio plug for that in my Turtle beach video capture unit.
