sounds like a good system to me m8.

only thing i might consider is maybe setting up 2 harddrives? think it would run everything slightly faster.

it depeneds on what the machine is being used for, i dont see how people can say its a "good machine" or "needs a bigger hard drive" without knowing what its going to be used for. The machine is over kill if all his mate is going to do is just word processing, and on the other end of the scale if his doing heavey rendering then the specs wont be high enough

didn't specifically say that, although with newer games comming out requiring 7+GB of space it's pretty dam easy for a gamer to fill around 70 gb with enough free space for the drive to function correctly.

iirc my Ghost recon install folder is around 10GB (w/mods), then i have another 5gb of stored mods.

mods, patches, utilities, my own mods / maps etc = another 25GB (for other games).

maybe it's just me but i can fill 80 no problems just with games, let alone mods etc.

Well Steve won his 10$ and he is a gamer but he also is a Vid Editor for our Schools Sport Highlight Section on the website

the MSI mobo is costing me bout 67$

the total for it all is about 535$ W/ S&H and 6% sales tax

the parts come in wednesday and i am gonna ask him later today if he has a h-drive he would like me to use or i could always put my old 60gig Western Digtal 7200 Rpm h-drive in it to give him 140 Gig

and yes todays games are becomming to big that is why the prices are 50+ for a newer game.
