RollEyes PSU and X800GTO

It sure has been a long times scince I've been here...so i would like to say hello to everyone, but lets get to the point.

Ok...well i currently have got a 300w PSU, and this provides enought power to run a 9800pro, but I'm getting an awesome deal from a friend to sell this card for 140 dollars. This thing has a Zalman on it otherwise he wouldn't buy it from me for that much. Soo...im going to have 140 bucks + 60 that I currently have...giving me 200 bucks. I was on newegg today and say a great deal for a X800 GTO 256 for $180. It says I need a 350w PSU. And I read the reviews and everyones saying they needed a new one, so i did some google searching and found that its quite possible to run a X800 pro on a 300w. Then of course you say, why not get a new PSU just to play it safe? Well unfortunatly I have a micro ATX Case and PSU currently, and a 350w PSU is at least 48 bucks. Thats a rip off, so I spent all last night trying to fit a old 200w standard ATX PSU into my case, did some modding and it worked....but it was too tight a fit. Now it would be great if you guys gave me your opionion! Thanks

Aaron

You could always try it, although I doubt your current PS will have the required power connector to connect to the graphics card, nor to power to supply it. It may work, but more times then not you will have problems when your in the middle of a heavy gaming session with power issues and crashing as the new graphics cards take a nice ammount of power.

Antec is the only PS that I will run, heres a good deal although I dunno if it would fit in your case..

400W Futron Source for 40$ at newegg will be plenty but if you are going to upgraded to better parts later i would go with a 480W PSU or higher

you know go buy a 450w PSU this way you have extra and it will not over drive the PSU 100w more safe zone. no burn out.

don't know how much a 600w psu are going for but it be a great thing to have

guys its a micro atx case, therefore those ones wont work. if i could find a 350-400w micro ATX PSU for under 30 bucks i wouldnt be here. athena power has some good deals, but they are P.O.S.s. I just would like to know what you think will a X800GTO work with a 300w PSU?
