New way to connect to the internet..

Read this on cnet news..

Power companies are starting to invest in a technology called BPL (Broadband over Power Lines)..

I think it's great.. More choises are always a plus.

Have had it in Sweden for several years, those that have it say it works great

Our system doesn't interfer with anything else. As it said it did for them

think its a great ID only drawback could be some one like wireless can tap right in if its not setup right security is a must.

power line are every were and they be easy to get to. but what the cost and how fast the speed of it be? better or about the same as dsl?

No installations is requiered on the Swedish one, just plug in an adapter to your modem from the outlet and hit the internet world! (they do have to do installations at the companys but hopefully they know what they are doing)

I have seen reports that speeds of 200 mbps were gained I though that was in aussie somewere ( canberra orso?)

And in holland they had a test also, but i havent found actual speed results yet, but i think they are around 200 also.

We are getting UTOPIA fibre optics here. It people will be able to get at least 10mb connections
