ASP.Net 2.0 - redirecting to filler page when site is down

Hi,

Anyone know how to add functionality in ASP.NET 2.0 to redirect a visitor to a different page if the site is down?

Thanks.

Is the other site on the same server? If not i would do it with DNS instead.

Becuase if one site is down wouldn't the other one be aswell if it's on the same server? Or do you mean if site 1 is under construction it should redirect to site 2?

Or is it that you're linking to a site and if it's down you link to another site? If so make a "script" that pings port 80 once in a while (or just when the link is pressed) and if nor response direct it. Unfortently I haven't done anything with ASP .NET I did use ASP when I started with server side scripting languages and I did something simular then. But it's all faded out by now heh

You can add secondary DNS records to direct users to another host if your main host is down.
