Joint Ops Elite Set to get Freaky in the Championship Final

Battle Stations: Today is D-Day for the Gaming-Freaks first ever Joint Operations Escalation US Championship. Only two teams remain standing in what has been a successful 32-team tournament that has tested combatants in combined TDM-AAS-TKOTH matches. At 7pm EST, the top two North American teams will battle for the undisputed heavyweight title. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s the Delta Force Legends (DFL) vs. Existence (EX).

The Vegas Line: With a 17-2 record in JO, and a 4-2 record vs DFL, EX would appear to be the favorite in this match. However, with a 69-17-match record, DFL cant’ be considered an underdog in any match they roll into. Look for this match to go the distance as both squads have geared up for the first “pro” match in Joint Ops history.

Dynasties: Both teams have a long and storied history. DFL, under the leadership of Submit, has been fighting since Task Force Dagger in 2002. With 119-recorded battles, two BHD Championships, and three Joint Operations Titles under their belt, DFL has set the standard for long-term success in war gaming. Existence, the competitive branch of the 85-member Belligerent Truculent Soldiers squad, was formed just 4 months ago by Heineken, but is already a top ranked team. Including its shared BTS history, EX has won 3 BHD Championships, and a Joint Operations Title. The teamwork of long-standing members is often cited as the reason for the success of Existence.

Called Shots: Heineken suggests the key to an EX win will be their dominance in the TKOTH maps. He acknowledges that DFL is tough to beat on AAS levels. Submit says DFL will focus on taking advantage of the fast spawn takeover times to keep their attack rolling. Both captains predict the match will go the full 3 maps, but only Heineken suggests overtime will be necessary for the win.

Prize Fight: Adding to the weight of this match are the generous prizes and sponsorship provided by Gaming Freaks, Nova Logic, and N-Vidia. The jewel will be a 6800GT card awarded by N-Vidia to the tourney MVP. While the cash and prizes pump up the stakes, the real trophy will be the title of undisputed Number 1.

The Ticket: Scheduled maps in this Best of 3. Good luck to all!

1. Sungai Sabe Lumber Mill AAS

2. Berkabut Valley TKOTH

3. Dormant Volcano AAS

OT: Kecoa Crossroads TKOTH
