will it like Microsoft to blackball all to buy another crappy system again. one have to buy tools for it to keep it running in good shape, its not like windows were ever on the top of things to start with. system error's, no more sign driver, updates have been getting lazy only freaky things i seen is new beta coming from them only turn into some type of crappy software to start with.

Microsoft software been getting cheesy lately anyways.
i mean i have to buy a 3rd party software to keep windows Xp is good working order thats really sad. fix error, update drivers, instill unsigned drivers from hell. good man wish they made windows that has every to it complete. i mean system tools top of the line without buying some 3rd party system tool to fix windows error or clean it up. a total system tool not lazy tools it come with.

yea i have Direct-X 9.0 SDK in my system

Im sure there bluffing, which means they want many to try vista and use it first, then they will fool everyone and release Driect X 10 but he may not be lieng about the XP thing. If so they may release it but probaly will make 11 instead or 10.b for XP Users and all since vista had DX10.

i really wish they trash the whole windows system totally and come out with something totally new Operation System other then old base line Windows OS.

windows system is a bet trashy in some ways it don't fix registers error or defrag at all on its own ether, everything has to be done by hand manually done.

give me a system that can take care of it self without me babying it along the way. total care package system tool not some pansies items to use ether.

crap after windows 95----today windows xp, you would think there be a lot more better items to use for system tools now days come with the operation system you buy this day age. nope same as it was all started out with in Windows 95 same basic tools

You come up with a whole new operating system, good chance none of your current software will work. And I think a lot of people won't be happy to find out they have to go buy new software... plus since it will be new, a lot of the main-stream applications may not exist for it.

Take a look at linux.. there are some pretty easy distrobutions out there... but they don't run windows software (or a limited range using emulators).

If it weren't for the windows software I have paid a lot of money for, i would switch to linux full time.

From my experience, Xp has been the best windows OS out yet. I can run for weeks on end, playing games, programing, working with graphics and not have to reboot. never could do that with any thing prior.

I agree with Chief.

I mean, I have to do everything manually, such as defragging, scanning, and all that stuff for the computer. It should be so if anyone is not right or something is odd, Windows will take care of it.

Now they're trashing DirectX 1.0? Can't they just make things convenient?

I also hate them things Microsoft says about Windows Vista, such as ''work faster...'' and
''work more conveniently...''

Dont see how it is going to be faster just a Re-done version of Xp might eb faster when it first comes out but in teh long run will slow down dramastically like any other operating system.

I personally think if your Re-Format your Xp vs a New Vista Home Edition The Xp and vista will be bout the same!

Like Chief said, Microsoft like to piss off people.

For example, Halo 2 is one of the best games in the world, and PC users are looking really foward to play the game, and when they look at the system requirements, it needs Windows Vista. Microsoft wants the PC users to buy Windows Vista so we they can play Halo 2 on it (and maybe some RAM and a grunty graphics card and that's all).
So if they wanna play Halo 2 on the PC, then they have to get Windows Vista.

Microsoft should release an evaluation of Windows Vista and we should se what it's like first.
Microsoft really needs to sharpen up with their ideas. At least you can get an evaluation of Windows Longhorn which is like a pre-Windows Vista.

No most stores usually wont allow takebacks on games nowadays, i know most around here dont anymore due to they say you might of burned it on a disc and returned it.Funny thing is they have stuff or use to in Wal Mart that told them whether it had been copied which im sure they still have somewhere.Thats how it was when i wanted to return Area 51 they said you can only exchange it for the same game which is ignorant.Funny thing is also that i have a XP now and it was only for 2000 i think but i know for XP but i didnt have one then and didnt expect to be getting one anytime soon then which i did a month or two later but i had just gave the game then to my friend lol.

Unless you got really urging ya could always contact the makers of the game for a refund.I mean they thereself can tell whether its been copied. They may refund it but if not your stuck with it unless ya resell it to someone.

I mean i think stores can allow refunds on software!I mean if someones coming in ever week or month returning something i could see how they might not allow it but if its his first time in ages then thats stupid.I have only returned maybe 4 things or less in my life software wise back to Wal Mart out of my 17 years 1/2 of life.
