The North has been spoiling for war or perhaps attention.
It's what they want ... They want the West to give them money and/or food and their way of getting attention is by showing force with their Nuclear buildup and by harrassing South Korea. South Korea has shown great restraint by not retaliating, but as they have shown after the resignation of South Korea Defence Minister Kim Tae-young on Thursday, they will respond strongly if there is another attack by the North. My fear is that if War breaks out in the Penninsula, this will draw China and the rest the U.N. back into finishing the unfinished War.

I dont think theres much to worry about here folks. The US/Sth Koreans had HOGUK a little while earlier, North Korea is starting to undergo a phased generational change in leadership, this was a pretty standard thing done mainly for internal politics, it looks good on TV...
I cant see much happening out of this, the world sort of condemned it, the UNSC will have their bit, the US gets to look good internally by standing next to the sth koreans, give it a few weeks and things will be back to normal... |

I agree with BB. Sounds more like something done because of change in their leadership.
