i was really keen to play this when i first herd about it and saw the vids etc, since then ive heard it all comes down to the super units, something which i don't really like in RTS games, i awlays have to play C&C without super weapons for example :/

ya but it takes a long time to make a super unit..if u build about 3 artillery's u will knock a super unit with about 5 shells...and u can always spy on ur enemys base, so when u see their building something u dont like..send in your bombers

I REALLY wanna get this game, but I don't like having to settle for low settings. I have a pretty decent card (7800GTX) but that still isn't very good for this game. If only I had to money for an 8800GTX...

I checked out packing at Wally World yesterday. Looked like Space version of C&C. Is that correct?

It pretty much is. The size and scope of the maps is what really sets it apart from other games in the genre. The larger maps with 8 players are 81 square kilometers so the amount of strategic components can really come into play.

amd 4600, X1900XTX, 1 gig ram. runs great on medium settings, on high, or with 500+ units running around, not so good

edit: do NOT run this game on low, they take out everything preaty about the game. kinda pathetic really

yea I got it a couple days ago. Running on a Pentium D 3.0GHz Dual Core, 2 gigs Corsair DDR2, 7800GTX 256mb

I'm running on medium and haven't gotten any slow down, but I haven't tried any big maps or with loads of units. The processor is very important because every unit has physical calculations every time it fires, moves, etc. Dual Core processors are almost mandatory for no slow down with higher amounts of units.
