Confused DirectX 9a

When I first installed BHD I had DirectX 8 and the game ran fine. I recently reformatted my computer and downloaded DirectX 9a. Since then I have been having a problem in BHD whereas building walls flicker and become see through. I want to uninstall 9a and revert to 8, but can't seem to find an uninstall option. Can anyone guide me?
Cheers.

go to windows update after it scan your system you should see Dx9c download it (be a short for instill it from the dx site)
i did works fine for me."dx9c is end user virsion of it what i seen dx8 is instill and use.

also do a double check on your video-card for newer update on the driver & software mostly they are one and the same.

don't know about dx9c, but if you really want to "uninstall" directx, try this:

run dxinfo.exe (should be in your windows directory). it will show you the filenames of all the drivers. delete them all. (maybe you have to boot in safe mode)
after that just install dx8
this worked for me once (at least with dx6->dx5 )

Sorry I wasn’t trying to be sarcastic but I took great interest in obtaining the update
If you could send me the link or program via e-mail I would really appreciate it.

direct x is according to windows not uninstallable and reformatting is required.........some video cards are having probs rendering especially in the field of z- fighting as the cards are not and were never designed to be directx9 and in some cases can actually damage things , did you check you cards site ? you have to have there latest drivers also if they are supported.........but if the card cannot render the directx9 and the game does not do a call for it either then you will never notice the difference
hope this helps
