100th reply in this thread lol!

BTW, the person couldn't attach the JO sounds as only 249KB max is allowed to be uploaded on the Action-Inside forums so the person is attaching it to my email. Woot! (JO sounds are 2MB.)

5 hour homework? That seriously sucks. It really does. Even more so than spraining your ankle and getting attacked by a swarm of wasps.

Anywho, i finally solved the right hand Huey slick problem, so now any bot on the right slick will fire at enemies. Now we have a fully armed Huey! I also made bots more accurate when on the Quad 50 anti aircraft gun.

I also have removed teh crosshairs from ALL vehicles and weapons in both BFV, BF42and its expansion packs. But my most proudest yet, is that i have made vehicle wreckage last much longer now. It makes the scene look like flashpoint, but sometimes bots might get stuck with long lasting wreckage in the way, and it doesnt do too well when its on runways, so yeah.

But i think that al lthe new weapons have lessened the bot aggression in some cases. But im still undecided on that theory, as just yesterday, we (US) got our assess whooped during an outrageous assault.

Did you solve the mortar problem? And the medpack thingy and that?

BTW, I was thinking of adding the machine gun sights to BHD as well. They aren't in BHD, but they're in JO. So Nova are lazy, and/or they didn't add sights because machine guns are more for ''running 'n' gunning''. But it probably won't look that good as the sights from JO are more better graphic and it won't really uniform with the gun in BHD.

No, mortar coding has been cancelled so i wont bother with that. Medpacks and wrenches i'll still think about but im waiting for someone to lend me a hand with it. If not, then bugger them as well.

Oh God...

All those JO sounds sent to me were bloody invalid except the two that sounded like they were from BHD...

They were attached to my Hotmail TBH. Bloody Hotmail. I know the person woulda tested them out before she gave 'em to me...

yup iy was the flags inset for the DFX scopes, i aint supposed to tell ya this but set the max scope mag to a higher number and take the inset flag out and ya can still play it online without getting punted for it is already a part of every game.

dont do it fer some1 will knotice something is up from ya pickingem off at 700m with 1 shot.

find fireing 3 shots over their head b4 the kill shot takes the suspision out.

Even on stat-servers?

I don't have DFX but I wouldn't do it as I would be playing stat-servers. I like being fair really.

BTW, sucks that you can't extract the weapon.def, etc. out of the BHD .pff and edit it. You have to get it off Mod Tools. If you don't, you'll see hexed ''computer crap'' etc.

Also BTW, I tried editting Operation Flashpoint and I got an extractor to ''unpack'' the .pbo files (like .pff files) but there's so many ''.paa'' files which hold the goodies. I can't find a program to edit them, or actually opening them with Notepad won't do sheet.

Meh, I dunno what to do right now... waiting for the ''uncorrupt'' JO files. She (girl that sent me the JO sounds) is going to host them somewhere else as the attaching in Hotmail could be effed really so yeah...

Dunno what to do now!

Run into a snag have we Chris?

On my end, the bots have begun using bayonets. I didnt see em, but i saw it in the kill messages. So thats good. I also increased some weapon ranges etc etc, and changed how the bots selected their kits. 20 of them want to be engineers while there's one for each other kit. So i changed that around and hopefully its a tad bit even now.

I'm downloading the JO Decompression Tools lol. Going to ''decompress'' the .wav files.

Ran into some serious complications before work today. The bots were still hording the map with engineers, which frankly, pissed me off. On Kursk, every Russian on our team was just blown away by K98s. Seriosuly. With each spawn came death. Not only that, it was just plain illogical to have engineers all over the place.

So i spent an hour before work fiddling with the kit AI to try and even out kit selections. Ive got it even for the time being, but there's no telling what the bots may do. Sometimes its as if they just have a mind of their own...

I got those JO sounds in the game and it's effing awesome!

I just asked for the M9, Shotgun, Minigun, and .50cal sounds and I'll be sweet.

The thing is, the sound in JO for the M240 is the same as the M249. But fark, I've found the M240 sounds in the NovaLogic .pff, but they're nothing like the M240 sound in the game TBH. :S

* Edit:

UNOFFICIAL JO MODTOOLS

Tools from Devilsclaw:
BFC1Extractor - decompresses various files (.wav, .dds etc.)
BIN2TXT - converts a .bin file to a .txt file
TXT2BIN - converts a .txt file to a .bin file

Tools from DareHacker:
lwfbuilder - allows you to make .lwf files that are used by the game to play sounds. It is also able to convert the .lwf to a .txt file.
BFCTool - commandline tool to decompress and compress various files (.wav, .dds etc.)

Tools from DV:
BHD2JO_3DI - converts a BHD 3di file to a 3di file that can be used in JO.
DPTH2CDEP - compresses the raw depthmap of a .cpt terrain file so that it can be used in JO.
DeSCR - encrypts and decrypts files with a 'SCR' header used by Novalogic games.

Teh .lwf!

That would be so funny if the .lwf held about 100 sounds all making up the game music lol.

Well, the girl found a CAR15 sound in JO's .pff for some reason and I'm getting it soon.

Where's the SSs Mauser lol.

Man these sounds pwn lol. (JO sounds.)

Mauser, you have an email or whatever? I'm gonna go foward the sounds to ya. They're 3MB.

I just did the .50cal and the AK47 sounds... God it's hard. 'Cause in BHD and JO, there's more than one sound for each weapon. Those ''sounds'' are the gun sounds that are heard at long range, etc. And when I'm putting JO sounds in, I have to find the sound that's best for long range and replace the default long range one, etc.

But but but, I might be getting some blank discs to put in my mod just incase and crap.

The person that gave me the JO sounds has yet to find the minigun one and the M9 Beretta one and yeah... And for some reason she thought she found a CAR15 sound but it was a medpack sound Imao! (It had ''c15'' in its name.)

And BTW, in JO, the M249 and M240 sounds are the same too. The thing is, outside BHD and in the .pff, the gun's called the ''MAG58''. It's bloody hard to find the gun sounds for the M240. You search for ''m240'' and nothing, and then ''mag58'' and yes, you've got three sounds: one is the gun sound but not the one in the game, the second is similiar, and the third is the actual sound... on a loop Imao.

So yeah...

I'll post updates when I can.

Chris

Quit harrassing Mauser! Just like me, he cant be around ALL the time...

For me, i just tweaked aircraft AI a bit, making them opnely bomb ground troops more frequently. Made some more changes here and there.

Other than that, nothing more to report.

Nice one.

Im finding that bots in Vietnam are killing me a hell of a lot more than they were before the changes. But only on some maps. Average kill score for bots during a match is around 10. Over average is in the 15-20s...and dont get me started on a COOP match with tickets set to 1000%...

Bots actually get up to 300 kills on some maps. I have the screenshots to prove it. Not on me now, will show ya soon...

I just did a mean-ass mission for OFP lol... no details BTW.

And I'm still working on BHD. Need to ''touch up'' the maps... and some other crap. And some dude sent me this .pdf with a listing of the JO sounds...

Still need the minigun (that has about 10 .wav files according to BHD), and M9 sounds. M21 for an extra.

Heh, you think your bots made a killing, check these scores out (btw, i meant 100 kills not 300 lol, was looking at mine)

But the only real reason that some NVA bots got so many kills was because they were camping on machineguns overlooking our paths. SO you can imagine what mayhem is involved there...
And this was taken a long time before i started tweaking. Who knows what it'll be like wih the changes....

GJ lol.

I need those sounds lol... xD

Did have two good BHD stat matches tho'. The 1st sucked, the 2nd was awesome and I got 20-6, and the 3rd one was 28-27 lol.
