Quit smoking!

Alright, I never started a thread about this because I was not sure if I would really quit or not and I didn't really want to be reminded of it everytime I looked at novahq.

On Nov 18th 2007 at 2:00 AM i smoked my last cigarette and have not touched one ever since. It's been about 5 1/2 months and I no longer even crave them. I'm so much happier, my breating has gotten loads better and I no longer stink like ash.

I used a perscription drug called Chantix to help quit. It worked very well and made smoking unbearable for me. Everytime I smoked I would feel like complete **** and get a headache. Chantix also gave me some of the most vivid and crazy dreams I have ever had. It's a known side effect of the drug, god damn I wish I was still on it. I can't even explain how cool the dreams were.

I'm trying to get my mom to quit now. Shes finally got her Chantix perscription, shes just trying to set a date.

i unfortunately smoke .. i've tried quitting on my own .. but things never have gone my way when i tried .. i'm planning on trying again soon..

it's weired .. i hate smoking .. i hate the smell .. the taste .. everything .. but i can't go without em ..

i do have a prescription for chantix also .. but too bad its 120 bucks for me cause my insurance doesn't cover it ..

and the dreams are not purely a side effect of chantix .. that stuff goes along with breaking any chemical addiction.

I know what you’re saying. Nothing went my way for the first little while either. I had a big problem the night I quit, changing the oil in my car. I would have killed someone if they bothered me. The old rubber ring got left on my car after removing the oil filter so when I put the new filter on there was two rubber rings = oil spits out everywhere when I started my car. I was covered in oil and could not get the old oil filter off because now it was slippery. I ended up stabbing it with a screw driver just so I could twist it. After all that some hot oil dripped by my eye when I was under the car so I jumped and got a nice deep cut filled with oil on my eyebrow. What a mess. I also had 4 computers to build the following week, which did not go how I wanted them to. I usually smoke tons when I am on the computer or building them. Especially if it isn’t going my way.

You just got to fight though it. I fought with myself (literally) many nights before I declared victory. I found cinnamon gum, altoid cinnamon mints, dentine ice frost bites and other strong mints/cinnamon helped a lot. The more it burned my tongue or lip the faster I forgot about a cigarette.

It’s tough, I won’t deny it. But the rewards are great. Smokes were 6 bucks a pack here. I was a pack + some a day smoker so that was about $50 a week for cigs. The Chaintix is worth it. If you’re like me you won’t like smoking at all after about 1 or 2 weeks of taking it. Plus you’ll love the dreams .

We've helped a few people quit and that is normally what they say helps the most. Having something in the mouth does wonders so people usually chew gum. Something else people found helpful was drinking juices that had a lot of Citris Acid in them.

Have you had the Cigarrette drink? You cut up a cigarrette and put part of it into water and drink it. I heard that it is so disgusting you'll never touch them again. Thing is that it is dangerous to do if you don`t do it right since you can get really sick.

Ps never really got that either...

Never tried the drink or eating a cig. That would't work for me. Making me hate it was not enough as I hated it the whole time I was doing it but I still did it.

the VA Hospital like me to go to classes to help me to stop, i said no thanks try it all it did for me in the pass to keep on thinking about smoking, the subject is on the tobacco what it can do as will other things. i don't like to think about tobacco at all. in the pass i did stop on my own totally that lasted 2yrs till the Army put me on a plane for 16hrs none stop i gave in.

i don't need tobe reminded what tobacco can do, there a good side its calm you down your nerve on the bad side it kills you smell and taste of item and will lost of will power. beside make you smell like crap to other who come near you

beside the a sh*t load of health trouble combo in to it as will the list is too long to list i been lucky none in my life still its real

started smoking when i was 17yrs old step for a time when i was 20 but started back up when i turn 22, this time i hope it for life time no more
