what you got now m8? and what size screen have you got? what budget?

cod4 has very low requirements: NVIDIA 6600 or better/ATI X1300 or better

a 8800GT would be an idea purchase http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814143118 and should handle any game on max apart from crysis, unless u have a monitor over 22"

and i have an old monitor, Dell E771a, and under 22"

and my computer is a HP Pavilion 061

and the budget isn't a problem, and does circuit city sell video cards?

Its the processor you need to be concerned about.

My AmD Athlon 2800+ won`t run it!
DARN!

I have a 7900GS video card too!

this is gonna require you to open your case and take a glance inside at the slots on your motherboard. Look for what they're shaped like, most would look like regular PCI slots but especially in old motherboards there would be One special slot for video, they're either AGP or PCI express. look at the slot these parts would fit in.

This is your prime choice if its PCI Express
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814134028
dont mind the tab, it is rated for PCI Express

If your still slackin with AGP like me...
Good luck

its really time to straight up buy a new pc, AGP is dead

If you look in your motherboard, you might be able to tell if you have an AGP, PCI, or PCI-E.

If you see a brown slot that's different from the rest, and your GFX card sits in there, that could mean it's AGP.

I'm still on AGP. It's not that bad!

Oh, and go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information.

In the System Summary section, it should tell you the name of the mobo under System Model.

If you have the name of the mobo, Google it up. There should be pages telling you everything about the mobo including what type of graphics port it uses.

if the motherboard is a cheap one or at least 3 years old then i dont think u will get a good PCI-E card..

8800GTS = £140-£180... for 320mb

A processor like that is powerful enough to work a Geforce 7800 GS. i know that because my old processor, a single core 2.0ghz could do it. but thats probably the best for it since if the game demands more power, the processor is the bottleneck.
