Coloured ram slots
Im guessing someone here will know this =P
My motherboard has 4 ram slots, 2 purple and 2 orange. Whats the difference? can i only put certain types or ram in each one? |

It means it is Dual Channel
If you stick in 4GB ( like me ) you will end up having 2 GB visible, but twice the acces speed.

The colors have to do with dual channel. If you have two sticks of ram, both the same size and speed you'd put them in the purple spots to create a dual channel setup. Same things goes for the orange.

thats okey then, i have two 1gb sticks in the purple slots.
so i can put another two sticks of 1gb in the orange slots? |
