power requirements

i have the following
mother bd GA-990FXA-UD7
cpu amd am3+ 8150 8 core proccessor
16 GB ddr3 1600 mhz mem
7 2 TB HDD's
2x MSI twin frzen yougart 6950 2 gb gdr5 sdram
1 blueray writer
was using a corseair 1000w PS and a asus
990fx sabertooth mobo but the mobo crapped out
and i replaced the mbo and the PS with a GA-990FXA-UD7
and a 850W PS... with all the above how big of a PS do i need?

Sorry I'm not getting New Posts showing up too well, missed this.

say 500w for the vcard (your current rated consumption 316w) in case of upgrade.
5-10w per HDD and Optical drives
about 100w for the CPU
50-100w for MoBo
and usb externals depends on device: power typical max 1.5A @ 5V = 25W

don't forget fans and other addins etc...go by their ratings which vary considerably

Then add a buffer or overhead of 20% so the supply isn't ever running maxed

the specs on the video cards call for 2 75 watt 4 pin connectors thats 150 watts
and i have 2 cards thats 300 watt an i guess i can calculate the wattage from the
hdd lable for the hdds " current x Volts = watts "
