Can't Host! Need Help!

I have K6-2 500 MHz Processor w/ GFORCE2 MX 200 32MB PCI card, WINXP PRO., and 128MB of RAM. I have installed Nortons System Works 2003 and DF: TFD and nothing else.
I have a Linksys 4-port router. I will be using this pc as a server only. I have turned the internal winxp firewall off.
When I start a game with this pc and go to long in and play on the other pc, I can see my server listed on novaworld but I can't connect. The PC that I am playing on is a P3 450 MHz processor w/ GFORCE2 MX 400 64MB AGP card, 386MB of RAM, and WINXP PRO. I have turned off WINXP firewall and Nortons Internet Security 2002 as well on this PC. Any ideas as to why I can't connect?

I think that is the best answer to your problem. But there have been some other good router posts here. Check the faq for the game you are trying to play also.
