Modding soundfiles
I want to mod the sound files in the game and I did seemingly everything to make my new sound file identical in quality as the old one but when i try to run the game it says AUDIOMGR: Unknown Sound File .LWF when I try to play the modded sound in the game.
Im modding Comanche 4 but should be the same as delta force. The only difference is that my sound file says the Writing application: Lavf59.17.100 which i cannot seem to remove. Anyone have any idea? |

Comanche 4 is not the same as Delta Force, even if you mean BHD. Very similar, yes, but C4 is not as modder-friendly as DFBHD.
.lwf files are basically sounds catalogs that the game uses to assign sounds to items and actions. There are mission specific .lwfs, and for sure, one game .lwf. Now, the logical modder would assume from that error message that your newly edited sound is not included in an .lwf that the game is trying to find it in. But we're talking about an NL game, so it might be something else. Perhaps you misspelled something? I've done some extensive modding on C4, including more radio-sounding Betty lines, and explosion sounds for wooden crates, the fire extinguisher, and some other items that didn't have explosion sounds. I don't recognize that error message, though. Other than suggesting a thorough debugging on the one .lwf or the other, I'd check the spelling on the .wav files. Capital 'I's and lower-case 'l's look the same in some fonts.
