probs running bhd on xp

hi can anyone here help me a friend of mine is on xp he has a 32mb gfx card nividia ge-force 2 but when he plays black hawk down sound is real bad like when he fires guns its sounds like its repeating a bit like ricocheting <<<< dont know if i spelled that right

if sound is the problem, you would help us helping you if you told us what soundcard your friend has
is it some crappy on-board soundchip or a card from creative?
RAM might also be an issue, XP itself needs a lot, i absolutely wouldn't recommend anything below 256 MB here

ps: i always played with winXP and an old SB Live (the 4.1), absolutely without problems.
