Sound Issues

Here lately in the past month my sound has been acting up on my computer.I have volume control volume 2 notches up from my normal settings which is the max.The sound is working i know but its low as heck even in games.I even tried turning game volume all the way up but still lower than normal.I have latest computer updates and latest Direct X.

Weird thing is it only happens like this every so often.Sometimes it goes back to normal after so long when i restart my computer the sound comes back.I have attempted many restarts in the past with this problem and none seem to help it.

One thing i have did i know it cant be is improper shutdown due to BHD freezing(a bunch)

I have tried testing Direct Sound in my DXDIAG and all tests passed but they were low sounded.

My computer is an Windows XP and an Area 51 m7700 Area 51 Extreme Gaming Laptop!

LMAO!I dont know whats up with this crap but i just restarted and i turned my real player volume up to the max which is loud loud and i exited then i launched BHD and the sound was loud likes its suppose to be.I will update this post if i start having issues again with my sound.

It might be faulty connection to speakers too

in the game unchecked WMD select box it should be louder.

some speakers will not work on WMD if they are stander sound speaker system will not be as loud as it should be.

i found this out on my own as will.

think if you have 3-5 speakers setup it OK for WMD checked, only if there only 2-speakers and headset don't have the WMD check OK

Woah Woah Guys never said anything about speakers My speakers are built into my laptop.Onlly thing is i hardly ever use add on speakers.I did today when the sound went low and it helped some.But wouldnt let me go tro loud due to screeching noise it made when i tried.The speakers are good there was just something not wanting my volume up any higher lol.

Anyways everything is on the max steve!Chief its nothing in game due to it only happens ever so often with EVERY game!

So i dont know i got so many things on this laptop im not sure what half the things do thats why i got to take time to read the alienware guide more too see what else i didnt know it came with.Like i said this thing has tons of stuff and ports.

I believe the sound might of just been acting up from restarting too much seems to be the only time it really does that everytime it happens.

is the soundcard comeing to an end? i'm not really sure

i had some weird sound problems .. but that was my fault .. i didn't jhave this new speaker system for a week and already i burned em out .. at least they sent me new ones lol

Cant be!If it does go out Alienware will be repairing it for dang sure.Has to be there f up.Its only happened here recently so i would say its not the sound card itself.Its built in i think or atleast you would need someone who has worked on laptops like this to put a new one in without screwing things up.Im sure its just from restarting my pc so much made it just need time to cool down or something from being did so much.
