But seriosuly good luck, and remember in Brazil it is a legal requirement you carry proof of identity.

Buy a prepaid taxi ticket when you get to the airport (if you need to), this will help ensure your ride in registered taxis and minimises the risk of being assulted etc by a unregistered taxi driver...

Also advisbale to get vaccinated for Yellow fever....

I am going to be right next to the amazon. We are supposed to have certain instructions to follow so that we don't get malaria.

Have fun! I'd start working on the language if you haven't already...you'll learn it soon enough being over there, but at least being able to hear every word is a great start.

Very true. Digital Cam will save you lot of money. Plus you can just it hook up with PC and send 'em to us

I have no access to email down there.

I bet the card would get stolen if I sent it in their mail system.

I go to their MTC for 3 months in Sao Paulo... I will definately be taking a lot of pictures while I am down there.

My mom went there on a mission (women are not required to go on a mission but if they want, they can) she is trying to teach me the language. It is pretty similar to spanish (which I took 3 years of) but it is different in pronunciation and spelling a little.

For instance :
Loco = Crazy in spanish
Louco = Crazy in portuguese

They are both pronounce the same though
