CI'S (computer interrupts)

When i host a df2 game (unattended or not) some people are reporting CI's of about always 20+ seconds. These have occured at intervals of 5 minutes....other at random but always 20 seconds. I have used pcpitstop.com to remove all unnecessary background pgms and used adaware to take out spyware but the ci's still keep coming. Any advise to eliminate these annoying CI's would be appreaciated....

PS. I also use df2/3 favorites but i do not know if that has an affect or not....

Nope cause it shuts down after you start DF.
And the Ci's are mainly a connection thing. I dont know much bout it but its between your comp and the server. I do experience them also while hosting 14 or more players.
i guess it has to do with the availble bandwith you got.

So df2/3 favs is not an issue then... I do host 14 players at a time so maybe ill cut to 13 and see if it helps. I have a cable modem so that load should be tolerable... Also Deadbolt from favs indicates that Alt-Tab on the host side might also cause it...but peeps are getting it when i run unattended...go figure!!! jet

if it is for DF2 try "scroll lock" makes a small screen but not the big 1. "alt-tab" is devastating for DF2.

Try hosting 12 player games....Also, are people complaining of lag at all?

ci's can be from manythings:
1.) running progams in back ground.downloading or updating, messager so on on both partys.

2.) you should be ok its the plays ping if they are lagging its not your fault at all, i play with other host using cable (not me 56k i am using) they are doing a good job.

3.)players join-in and they have a lot of programs running in back ground will make them lag like crazy antivirus updating other tools updating or even downloading item at same time can make one lag too or even using a messager service too thier ram maybe low also too(Ci's or lag is same thing).

4.) as long as the game is fully update you should be good to go.

you did good www.pcpitstop.com is a good site and removing spyware is a good thing a lot of freeware has spyware programs in them take a lot out of Ram out of your system freeing it up is a good thing.

a lot freebiea software screen saver other items may have spyware in them think you instill 5-items all freeware or even shareware if they have 5-20 items that are spyware in them
let say total of 15-spyware times 5=75 spyware programs running in back ground run your ram really low i have found at any time my pc max out of 370-spyware found man i was lagging like hell after i remove them then restarted my pc man ran like new.
