have to ask reset button?
my tower never came with a reset button but the MOB (Intel D945Gnt) has two point connection for a reset button for it.
thing is would it be a Good ID to add on to the tower and connect it to the MOB so if the system lockup all i have to do press the reset button. i would have to cutout a hole to mount it to the tower front case housing, it's would be no hard work to do it. =========================================== added note: found my HD light was not plug-in right! i connected it backward, its is working now. lol i was going over the connect and checking the CPU fan to see if i need to blowout the tower yep over do for anyone who build their own computers or others

I have computers with out the reset button.
All you do is hold the power button down for 5-10 seconds, it then completely shuts the computer down. Its worked for me several times. IcI |

I don't think I've seen a ''modern computer'' have a reset button TBH. Weird isn't it?

I've never seen heard of a reset button for a computer, must not be popular yet.

a reset button is use when your computer locks up and you don't wish it to crash it (press the power button) all you have to do is press the Reset button. you can add it to the tower all one need a switch with a spring in it to use and it has the two wires to connect to the MOB. cheap item really. in some way having it i think will save the system totally as will

Unless I'm missing something, isnt the only difference between a reset and turning it off is the fact that a reset just automatically turns it back on?
Every time I have done a reset using a reset button it behaves as if I just turned the computer on - going through the POST, etc. I hear my hard drives shutdown and start back up. Only difference between the reset button for me and a complete power off by pressing and holding the button for 5-10 seconds is that with the complete power off I have to hit the power again to turn it on. I call the "reset button" a warm reboot, turning off the computer and let it sit for a couple seconds a "cold" reboot. And there have been a few times when tech support has had my mom do a "cold" reboot. IcI |

Honestly, with all the computers I have built, most of them modern, but some old, I have never come across a case without a reset button.
Are you tryin to mess with my head or something?

nope this case did not come with one at all, only a power button (on & off) on the front of it thats it. with two LCD lights thats it.
there is a big black screen area! am thinking of making a hole into and mount a spring load button to that center area for a reset button into it. scott basic i am asking is it good id if i can add it in? link: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...ab=11&NoMapp=0 there are other who did a review on the case as will there. this link to a white one my is blue! other then that they are the same item

reading all this, I don't see a need for a reset button, are you that lazy your cant just press the power button again when it shuts down?, or select "RESTART" from the shut down menu?, heh.
when I go to computer stores, I don't pay much attention to thecase, but I'm, pretty sure I haven't seen a reset button there.

The problem with a power down is that the power to the harddrives is turned off which can cause problems, modern computers tend to solve this if you hold the powerbutton for a certain time. Which old computers did not, hence why the need for a reset button was prominent as the reset still put power to the drives. A reset button is still better then to hold the power down button for a certain time as it usually fragmentate the drives like cracy and can cause hardware problems.
Older computer harddrives had to be locked before you picked the computer up which was the case with the "portable" Siemens PG plc programming unit. (I use " around protable as it was a 20 kg blob, with 10" BW screen) |

i gone out got the reset switch and wires, work them all together.
for the life of me i could not find a connector to the MOB taken LCD light HD two line female connection plug! use it with the "pushbutton switch two leads" (radioshack) then reconnect it to the reset poles on the MOB. workout great. next time the System lockup i press that. Thanks Scott and others

Scott & others this computer system was slap together by TigerDirect Barebone kite
basic the tower was made without the MOB in mind for it. will it working out great anyways. only thing i need to find a two female connection to add to the MOB for the LCD HD to use to plug it in again. i use the female connection to get the reset button to work. think there is a computer center around town or i may call my tech guy see if he has a extra one laying around his shop.
