i belive the parents want her to live but the peice of **** husban (witch has more choice over the mater than the parents, which dosen't make sense) wants her to die ... so thats why they pulled out her feeding tube

PERSONALY if i had a kid that was brain damaged and is never going to recover, and living the rest of their lives clueless, mindless, not knowing what the hell is going on, yea .. i'd say pull the plug

It's hard to pass judgment on either side. Remember Metallica's "One" . You don't know what to do untill you are faced with the very same thing. I'd love to say that I'd be a macho hero..and afraid that I'd die screaming the whole time. I'm still here...kinda silly to worry about it now ..huh..

Yea known bout it a long time...a buisnessman offered the husband $1 million to let her live, but he turned it down...

I would never pull the tube out, they say she will die a peaceful way, hell naw, they gunna starve her to death...Now is that peaceful. And all her family can do is sit their and watch.

What this shows, for one thing, is that you've GOT to have a legal will made out. And IN that will, you've got to state that you don't want to be kept alive by any means other than natural, if that's your wish.

Hubby claims they discussed this a long time ago and this is what she wanted (not to be kept alive by artificial means). But, he can't prove it because they never made out wills.

All his other behavior is bizarre, but don't forget, she's been in this state for 15 years.

I don't have a 'for sure' opinion on this one way or the other, since all I know is what I read, and of course, you can always trust the media...

A will wont help in alot of places because a will only comes into effect in the event of death. You need togive someone or a group of people what we here in SA call Medical power of attorney (im sure theyd have similar things in the US). That basically when envoked allows medical decisions o be made on behalf of the person.

Maybe he wants her to die so that he can hook up with his girlfriend...think that is still kinda sleazy having a girlfriend while your wife is a vegitable.

.....to let someone go..... I hope Terri finds peace at last . Life isn't fair and it never will be. Just realize how lucky we are, to be able to chat back and forth and use our minds as we see fit. Terri hasn't had that luxury for quite some time. This one is for you Terri ! I hope you find a peaceful place.

In the US you can have what's called a Living Will. Basically, for times like those, it instructs the executors on how to handle those situations or leaves it in their hands to decide.

I think that in this case...the quality of life is what is important.

I wouldn't dare say they couldn't do that.

My Grandpa had the same thing happen to him...kinda.
He went into a coma and was stuck there. We could have put a feeding tube in and stuff but why? It was his time to go. He was old and his quality of life was horrible. He could barely walk, he couldn't see, he couldn't hear. I think he would have approved. I would rather someone pull the plug on me or something like that than keep me around because they desperately want me better...especailly when the chance is VERY slim.

I guess it comes down to your religious beliefs. I KNOW I will see my grandpa again and so it made it easier.
