Break through in Intel chips.

If any of you keep up on technology, then you already know that AMD's 64 bit chips are now extinct.

Intel has developed a chip that contains 160,000 bits. Yes that is the correct number. So move over Windows 64, cause I want my windows 160,000 for Intel

For those of you who can't do math, that's 10,000 times as many bits as AMD's processors.

Intel has also made a very large step in the number of transistors as well, coming extremely close to breaking the law that states the number of transistors will double every 2 years.

I cannot wait to have the new intel chips in my PC to go along with my quad-sli Nvidia's.

i thought it was a joint venture between Intel / AMD / IBM, or was that something else similar this week?

it would be nice Busted to have a link to this source you read about it.

i have to agreed with steve it was a co-op of them three i think and maybe a forth one as will who help to break the 64bit speed limite.

still it great to hear about it they come throu in the end not a waste of man hour or money. will anyways my hands up for them.

so each of them will come up with their own version of this chip at less they found a new way going about it.

bad news you may have to get a newer MOB and Memory cards to match the new CPU besides all the other things go with the new MOB fan and so on.

No, AMD has no grounds on this discovery.

International Business Machines Corp. expects its technique to debut next year in chips made by its partners, which include AMD and Japan's Toshiba Corp.
looks like they have the tech now tho.

Intel's 45mn chips are set to roll in Q3, so AMD better pull their finger out fast, or at least get their quad core chips finished.

Even their Quad Core's though won't = 160,000 bits together lol.

If Intel can get past Moore's Law before AMD, I think it will put the final touches on AMD's place in the chip world.

yeah exactly.
the only reason Intel produced the C2D chips was becasue they had to rethink their strategy because they were being owned by AMD chips in price and performance. Intel took it for granted that their brand name alone would sell computers with their chips in. i think it scared them when Dell shatred shipping units with AMD chips hehe.

however credit where credit is due, they are producing fantastic chips at the moment. and although AMD has genuine 4 cores one chip solutions comming sometime... they need to produce something special soon.

i think they might come along with something like having a multi core cpu with one core dedicated to gaming and/or game physics. having 4+ cores is just a total waste outside of a server/render farm, so why not make use of them? they own ATi so i think it's very much possible.

ADM may own Ati but i think that got them for one main reason the crossfire to use with ADM CPU as will GPU.

think the crossfire is something new they needed to move forward and they did not what other get them.

AMD bought ATi so they can intergrate the GPU with the CPU and because they needed there own complete chipset platform like intel has.. in terms of raw power the GPU is much more powerfull then the CPU. The CPU is more general purpose. When AMD gets to intergrating ATi's stuff into the package we'll see a new spin on things. For office and home office the AMD64 + ATi intergrated graphics platform is perfect. Cheap, stable and has enough power for vista. I built all the computers at work around that platform.
