Ground is full of coloured dots in bhd and its expansion.
There is some problem in these 2 games. In bhd, most of the missions in mogadishu have this problem, Now in team sabre, I encountered with this problem in one mission. The roads and the whole ground are full of coloured dots, and do not look good at all. This causes difficulty in spotting enemies. What could be done to solve this problem?

Could you post a Pic?
If it's just one mission then it could be that one map. Or it could be something else.

Video drivers ... set drivers for 32bit display, and ensure DirectX is up to date for your operating system and Graphics Card.
If you have reinstalled your Operating System you might also need to run the motherboard driver install disk. You can download the drivers from the net if you don't have the original disk. They are needed to open communication with PCI or PCIe16 expansion ports. Last edited by Guest001; 07-20-2011 at 10:15 AM. Reason: After Note |

no, I think the problem is your .PFF files, they may be damaged o algo asi..
Use a PFF editor, extract files to a temporaly folder and then repack them using Nova's Pack.EXE |

Yes I had a Comanche 4 mod that did that. (C4_mod.v6.2) Corrupt PFF, but shouldn't what I mentioned before be checked out, Then move to the next stage of repacking?

My game is up to date and the color bit is 32 bit. If I need to extract the pff files, which one shouldI do? localres.pff contains the terrain files i suppose. But how will simply extracting and packing them solve the problem? Still i would give it a try.

Localres.pff no. The problem may be Resource.pff, it contains 3Di models, DDS textures and all terrain textures in .TGA format, and most of these TGA textures may be corrupted or damaged. Try extracting and repacking Resource.pff. If that doesn't work, try converting those TGA images to BMP using Infranview and the reconvert to TGA and repack.

See, I don't have any experience doing these things. So, please help me in doing these simple things. I extracted the files using pff extractor, but then when i executed Pack.exe, nothing happened. The program simply closed itself after execution. So, how to basically pack all the 1400+ files?

Isn't pack.exe run from a command line as an Admin (elevated command prompt) or from a Batch (.bat) file?
[In your BHD directory make a file called Pack.bat, then script reads] pack Resource.pff *.tga pack Resource.pff *.dss pack Resource.pff *.trn include all the file types to pack etc... then... del *.tga del *.dss del *.trn del Pack.bat to clear the extracted data. or somthing like that? If you extracted to another folder you would have to insert extra parameters, better to backup and clear BHD of files you don't want accidently packed in, do the pack execution then restore the original files. PS leave Pack.exe and Resource.pff in there of course |

Is ther something more to extracting some of the files? A decompressor or is that only in DFX...any word on that "M" or 501?

To be sure, why not back up the game files (like the downloaded maps and any other maps you may have been working on, game saves ..etc...). Then, completely uninstall the game. After uninstall delete the BHD game folder (to be sure that everything is gone). Then reinstall (aka: Clean install) without any of the backup maps or files being placed back into the folder and then check it out. If the colored dots are still there, then it's not the game. It's a video setting or your video card or a video driver update that is in error or needed.
