PS3 vs. Xbox 360 vs. Ninteno Wii

It's preference obviously. I, like Chief, have both the PS3 and the 360.
IMO the 360 is superior at the moment and as long as Sony insist on keeping that same crappy design for their controllers, it will be a loooong time before I use my PS3 to play games you can get for both platforms.
A £250+ device and £40+ for new games is NOT a kiddies toy so please don't design controllers for kiddies hands. It's a nonsense and the only iconography it represents is that it's associated with Playstation. Recursive design is not cute or cool unless you got it spot on the first time and Sony didn't. They put their analogue sticks on as an after thought updating their origianl design but have not even attempted to take a look at how the thing handles and improve it. It's a crap controller which was reasonable in the nineties but unforgivabley poor a decade later.

Online is free on PS3 but slow and badly organised. The LIVE system inccorporates exceptionally well what XFire and Gamespy have been doing for PC for years. It's a basic requirement for a good online experience and Playstation don't do that at all well. At less than a quid a week I think LIVE is worth every penny.

Gran Turismo is a fine looking game. Graphically superior in almost every way to Forza Motorsport on XBox. But please trust me Playstation Racing fans - Gran Turismo has never come close to the online racing experience waiting for an XBox enthusiast, it really hasn't.

That said I don't think someone who loves the Playstation Series is going to feel let down by the PS3 experience. It's just that all other formats make better platforms for people whose first love is gaming. Pure and Simple. Control - Online - Purity. Not one aspect the 'Station' has a hope of surpassing under Sonys current management.
If you can afford it, PS3 owners should get themselves a box as well.

BTW if anyone is electronically savvy you could make a fortune making a PS3 controller that is designed properly I guarantee it.

They both have their perks. The graphics for games right now look equally good on every review site i've seen. Some look better then others. I'm not going for that "wait till more games come out" or "wait, the graphics will get better" bullcrap. Games aren't going to just stop coming out for the 360 and the 360's graphics keep getting better just like on the ps3. Look at the games you like, if you like more for the ps3 then get a ps3, if not get an xbox. Xbox LIVE is really awesome (I used to thinking paying for this was wrong, now I know why people like ZZ say it's worth every penny).

Personally, i've never owned a playstation so I have no ties to any games avaliable exclusivly for the system. But I will say I am very happy with my xbox's and the games that come out for them. Ninja Gaiden II and Fable 2 are examples of games I can't wait for and are xbox exclusive.

I agree with you 100% Scott, get what you like, I have had a Playstation since the first Playstation was created and i never really cared/liked the Xbox and the games that were on it, I was always liking the way the Playstation systems were set up and the games that you can get for it.

Some people might say that the PS3 has bad games, but that is just your opinion, one might say that the XBox 360 has bad games, and once again that is just their opinion, get what you like and don't try to cut down another system just because you don't like it.

I'm going to agree with dd here. Also 360 is awesome not a ps3 fan but if its your thing go for it. The only thing I know is when me and my family get together (even my grandparents that hate video games) we hash it out. :P

I have played the Wii, it seems cool at first and then gets boring.

I think it has to do mostly with some retarded games...if they had COD4 with the controller...that would rock.

I played a few games on Xbox 360 and it was ok...never tried PS3

I chose the Wii, because it's the only thing on the list close to the Nintendo DS, my favorite console. Also can't wait until next Sunday, because Guitar Hero On Tour is coming out! w00t w00t
