Ive got 2 9800 GTX+ in SLI and I cannot get to single GTX 260 standards.
the reason i mentioned power supplies( as im sure its steves as well) is you will need this: PCI-E Connectors 1 x 6Pin and most important thats probably not on your old comp is Main Connector 20+4Pin. 6 years ago they didnt use the 20+4 main power connector, today its the basic of the bunch, and having the 6 pin PCI-E conector native means you wont need to use up a molex for the video card and splitting a molex connector can cause video problems if the power going to the video card gets used for another device. and as far as im aware all molex connectors have atleast 2 per wires going into the PSU.(split natively) you can keep the old parts and eventualy replace what was stripped out such as optical drives, hard drive, and case for new and rebuild the old comp and give it to yer parents. I basicly did that myself by buying the new high capaicity HD, DVD burner, and way better case for cooling/storage for myself over several monthes and put the old comp back together just as it was. after that it was upgrade parts when i could afford it such as $100 dollars on a newer video card, or if the prices went down on HD id buy a higher capacity drive and use as a slave and make it my documents, new better mobo, better PSU more ram etc etc.

Yeah I ran into a problem with 20A rails on my video card. It was hard finding a decent power supply at a reasonable price. Luckily I don't have that much hooked up so I can get the whole molex wire for the video card.
