Well first I would ask the ones that come in do they use DF-Pinger and if so have they stuck a tick in the box to keep pinging the server, As this will cause ping spikes.

Df-Pinger is A great tool, But in the wrong hands it can be used to slow a server down by continuously pinging the server.

i dont run trainers or cheats when i play bhd an i got that win 32 virues on my puter an the lag is nasty in maps that i played that never had it before

Do you honestly thing that works? all they have to do is brute force norton, which is easy now, bombard your firwall with encrypted data and it falls, then they ping you, trust me no mater what you do your never safe, as far as hacks go on BHD nova should start running scans on there gamming ports

The problem I was having was not a virus on my computer, as far as we could tell. The cable repairman, indicated it they suspected that it was Computer hackers entering the game as players, then trying to find backdoors into the hosts computer. Though he did mention that virus that does much the same thing. I am not surprised it is in those cheats, and the no CD patch. Always was suspicious of them, and am glad I never used them. I had him check for a possible cable problem because in recent weeks there was a few times things got very laggy on small maps we had used numerous times before, with no problem. Have not seen it in the last two weeks though, since I posted the warning about it. The repairman said if week reported to our Internet Service Provider's Tech Support, while it was happening, they could run a quick test and trace it back to who is doing this.

a bet of a update after playing DFBHD/TS seems i got a trojan horse a hour later? troj_dia.a how i really got it don't know all i did was play the game and came here and novaworld.com, later my antirus sound a alarm that it found a trojan horse? C:\Windows\Download Progam files\ddm_download.ddm_control inside it 2-files test.ocx & test.inf what i under stand the test.ocx had it or was it deleted in safe mod and disable system restore. did a rescan mo virus or trojan horse was found.

it all so could mean some of the players are pinging the liven hel out of the stats and other game servers to death. this could all bring up the ping really fast one way to tell, ping lets say 250ms then it starts to be 1200ms-2000ms thats means the servers is being ping like crazy and all the players are being punted out, even if they have ADSL (DSL) their pings jump sky high. this is the only way you really can tell a player with a high speed service who's ping are jumping high then you know its not the server lagging it a player who pinging the server like crazy.

P.s you can leave and go into a public server that you know how the ping should be and stay there for 10min's or so and go back to that server you was having ping jumping up high then you really know. only for people with high speed service should try this dailup you really can't tell to do, with high speed service a player have would know what their ping is and can tell if the server pings are jumping up high. do to with high speed service their ping should be low as for dailup their ping can jump up high off and on the most part ping would be around 350ms-500ms
