NovaHQ - !!!MALWARE ALERTS!!!
Warnings for any suspect links or references on NovaHQ that may lead to disaster for the members will be posted here.
PROVISION: No member names will be posted: This is keeping in mind the possibility of False Positives. CLAUSE: If at all possible only the URL and general sources will be posted to preserve privacy and protect the innocent victims of site hijacking. In the case of a suspected member only the URL and/or location of the link or reference/recomendation will be posted and Admin will be alerted by Personal Message or eMail. good post. i now have an anti virus due to being infected by my OWN website lol but may of not been mine as the url was like 6yrs old.
and never visit short url's , there the not hot buzz on blogs/social sites etc but never visit the link unless your protected or its a personal friend posting the link . many users on myspace are replacing these tinyurl links with there myspace links.... etc etc but many hackers are also using them to draw people to malicious websites without knowing it intill it's to late for more info please visit http://www.techjaws.com/free-securit...hortened-urls/

A safe way to check is to have an addon installed to your browser that warns of mal sites like the WOT Web Of Trust.
Save the link location using the right click context menu where you can select: "Copy Link Location" paste it into your search engine NOT the Address Bar. IE Paste and search or search etc... where you can see if any thing pops up about it before proceeding. Remember that Private Browsing does NOT protect you. Note that sites making a reference to it will still show up ok but that is just the site making the reference ("Norton, AVG etc..") not the site itself! |
