Biggrin my new puter part 2

here are the specs

i7-920 LGA1366 2.66 GHZ HYPER THD
12 GB PC8500 1066 DDR3 Memory
EVGA GTS250 1 GB DDR3
12 TB HDD Space
22x DVD/52x CD R Combo
MSI X58 PRO-E
Element G Flying Case

also i learned the hard way Rule number one when building a computer with modern hardware . 1. Do Not Match memory with motherboard max memory speed...never do that...allways match the speed of your memory with the
SUPPORTED Memory speeds of the Proccessor you buy Not the motherboard....or you will get frequent BSOD for memory management....now she's purin like a kitten.......

I am not too thrilled with the video card choice as all it is, is a rebranded 9800GTX+ with a tad more support added to the firmware.

the rest looks great to me.

cool stuff man.

yeah I just got me another PC. it's just a dell XPS 400 like the one I have now.

it's not super fancy (just alittle something so me and bro can play multiplayer. but it'll handle games like FC2 really well.

i built this one myself cause expantion capabillities are limited on store
bought rigs and what was cool was every computer i've build you had to stick
your head inside it and plug the front panel cables in and try to figure out which
pin is + and which was ground ...this was the secong mobo i bought the first one
flaked out and the new one had a bunch of connectors you plug th front panel
ont it then plug it onto the mobo that was neet as heck... i have to RMA the first mobo.

BTW it isn't just the FSB... sometimes it has to do with the brand...sometimes it is good to see what brand's/models have been tested to work properly on the mobo.

I have OCZ Gold 1066 PC2 8500 and my FSB is 1066 on the CPU with a higher capability on the mobo... yet I can only get it to run at 800

ASUS has a nice feature that saves time and energy hooking up the front panel connections. they have a plug that you hook the connections to then plug it onto the motherboard. saves alot of time when first building and makes removabe mobo trays actualy useable without worrying about putting those plugs back in the correct location since it only goes on one way.

BIGSMELLYFART

32 bit operating systems can only address 3GB of memory so you need a 64 bit system to address 12GB...what is your OS?

voltage up a few tenth's of a volt like 1.51v/1,52v etc till it stableizes
it may not be set right i had ddr3 1600's in mine i keeped getting memory management BSOD's switched them to another new computer it also bsoded
after searching posts on the internet i raised the voltage a wee bit and it stablized but i had allready ordered some 1066 memory and we got some 1333
memory for the other new computer and i turned the voltage back down to
1.5 volts and its been smooth operateing since on both computers...

Tried that about a year ago and couldn't get it to work. Guess I should have checked Gigabyte's recommended RAM list.
